  • The Urban Schools Initiative of Pennsylvania Science Olympiad was begun as a comprehensive effort that targets Philadelphia middle and high schools to participate in Science Olympiad. This year we have seven high schools and eight middle schools signed up for our Philadelphia events. We provide the following: all registrations fees are waived, rules manual provided at no cost, each school given a $200 budget to purchase supplies, afternoon coaching clinic sessions for new and returning coaches to review rules and compare tips, strategies, and materials, a Build It/Study It/Learn It Day (December 19, 2015 at St Joe’s) for teams to learn from championship Science Olympiad teams, a Philadelphia Regional Science Olympiad competition (March 5, 2016 at St Joe’s).

In addition, this year we were asked to start Science Olympiad in the elementary schools and are currently working to do so.
