  • Mercy Neighborhood Ministries of Philadelphia, Inc. (MNMOP) provides multi-tiered services in the areas of early education, adult care, and adult education. MNMOP is classified as a Keystone STARS Level 4 program; the highest accreditation in childcare in the State of Pennsylvania. For three years, MNMOP after school programming has partnered with the National Recreation Foundation to build a robust STEM program for students in grades Pre-K through 8th. STEM vendors from River Bend Environmental Center, SPARKmakers, and Beneficial Bank teach our students lessons in Aquaponics, animal habitates, engineering, robotics, and financial literacy. In 2018, we plan to work with Jefferson University in the area of chemistry as well as Science2theMax for forensic sciences, and TechCORE2 for computers programming. Visits from and trips to the Franklin Institute reinforce the lessons our students learn. We are also preparing for trips to the robotics lab at William Penn Charter School.
