  • “The overarching goal of the Junior Achievement program experience is to demonstrate to young people, through the mentorship of a community volunteer and involvement in experiential activities, the relationship between the concepts they are being taught in school and how those concepts relate to their lives. Junior Achievement ™s K-12 programs focus on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and work readiness. One component of Junior Achievement ™s focus is Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), which is an important part of our overall work readiness objective.

Junior Achievement programs introduce students to potential career opportunities, including those in the STEM field. The concepts allow students to explore high demand, high growth, and higher paying careers like those in STEM. Program activities are designed to encourage students to consider STEM careers as viable options and to also recognize the important role of STEM concepts in all career fields. In addition, program activities enhance students ™ awareness of the evolution of high demand, high growth careers leading to the global nature of careers in the 21st century and ways in which students can prepare to be successful in the future.

Junior Achievement actively seeks to engage volunteers in all fields, including those who are currently working in STEM fields, to facilitate our programs and share their personal work experiences, providing students with real-world examples of such careers.”
