Full STEAM Ahead develops students’ 21st century skills while teaching critical thinking and creative skills. Students use hands-on experimentation and creative and performing arts to learn about topics ranging from cellular biology to ecology to astronomy, while experimenting with new technology and exploring engineering. Students also receive homework help and participate in team building and character building activities.
Full STEAM Ahead is unique in that it is a true STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) model – students learn about engineering, sciences and math through the arts; these subjects are not approached separately. This provides students with a relevant and holistic education.
This program is funded by a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant through the PA Department of Education, providing eight school sites with three years of after school programming at no cost to parents or administrators.
